Our Approach
Why Parent Protocol exists
Parent Protocol was created to help families live more presently - not more cautiously.
Most parents already know who they trust, what their kids need, and how their household works. The challenge isn’t care or intention. It’s that all of that knowledge lives in people’s heads, scattered across notes, texts, and mental checklists.
Parent Protocol brings it together - so care can stay familiar even when parents aren’t the ones running point.
No fear-based framing. No worst-case scenarios.
Just thoughtful preparation that supports real life.
How this came to be
Parent Protocol was built by a parent who noticed a gap.
Not a gap in love or responsibility - but in tools.
There were legal documents that handled edge cases, and there were informal babysitter notes that handled everyday life. What was missing was something in between: a clear, human way to document care, values, and continuity in a format people could actually use and share.
So Parent Protocol was designed to feel less like “planning for the worst” and more like taking care of the present - with an eye toward continuity, clarity, and ease.
Our approach
Parent Protocol is intentionally:
-
Human-first - designed around how families actually live and communicate
-
Values-aware - not just logistics, but what matters to each family
-
Flexible - built for different family structures and evolving circumstances
-
Complementary - it supports, rather than replaces, legal and medical planning
It’s meant to sit alongside the work of professionals - not compete with it - by giving families a clearer starting point and a shared language.
Who Parent Protocol supports
Parent Protocol is used by families directly, and it’s also referenced by professionals who work closely with parents, including:
-
family law and estate planning professionals
-
healthcare providers
-
therapists and counselors
-
educators and school administrators
-
parenting and family support organizations
It helps families arrive at conversations more prepared, more grounded, and with greater clarity about what they want care to look like.
Let's Work Together
At its core, Parent Protocol exists to make preparedness feel human, doable, and rooted in care - so families can focus less on holding everything in their heads and more on being present in their lives.
If you’re interested in learning more or exploring how Parent Protocol might support the families you work with, we’re always open to conversation.
